Unifiram Powder for Research
Unifiram (DM-232) is a piperazinone-derived AMPAkine closely related to Sunifiram (DM-235), sharing the same fundamental mechanism of AMPA receptor positive allosteric modulation and high cognitive potency (approximately 1,000× piracetam per mass unit in rodent cognition assays). Both compounds also activate NMDA receptor function via PKC-mediated GluN2B phosphorylation and enhance acetylcholine release — providing dual glutamatergic and cholinergic cognitive enhancement profiles.
The structural distinction between Unifiram and Sunifiram is a single methyl group difference in their piperazinone side chains. Both compounds show highly similar efficacy in amnesia reversal models. Unifiram may have slightly different receptor kinetics and time-to-peak profiles, though head-to-head pharmacological studies are limited. For research programs where cross-study comparability with Sunifiram is not required, Unifiram offers an equivalent AMPAkine tool compound at a different cost profile.
Research Applications
- Amnesia reversal: Effective against scopolamine, baclofen, and ECS-induced amnesia in rodent models.
- LTP enhancement: AMPA/NMDA dual potentiation for studying glutamatergic memory consolidation mechanisms.
- AMPAkine comparison studies: Direct comparison with Sunifiram for receptor kinetics, dose-response, and behavioral outcomes.
- Multi-mechanism panels: Complements CDP Choline, NSI-189, and Noopept.
