What Is OTR-AC (Ostarine-O-Acetate)?
OTR-AC is the O-acetate ester of Ostarine (MK-2866), a non-steroidal SARM. The acetate modification alters lipophilicity and hydrolysis kinetics, providing a prodrug model of the parent compound for pharmacokinetic and structure–activity research.
Mechanism & Research Context
Following ester hydrolysis, OTR-AC liberates the active Ostarine moiety, which acts as a tissue-selective partial agonist at the androgen receptor. As an ester prodrug it is used to study modified release and absorption relative to unmodified Ostarine.
Working With the Powder
This 1g research powder is soluble in ethanol, PEG 400, and DMSO. Weigh precisely on a calibrated balance and store cool, dry, and away from light.
Research Applications
- Ester-prodrug research: hydrolysis and release kinetics versus parent Ostarine.
- Structure–activity relationships: effect of acetate esterification on AR pharmacology.
- Comparative SARM studies: reference alongside Ostarine and other SARMs.
